If hydraulic isn’t your bag, then you owe it to yourself to try the new Avid BB7. It’s more powerful and is easier to set up than a mechanical disc brake. With easily accessible adjustment knobs and an attractive finish, BB7 disc brakes provide epic stopping power and versatile pressure settings. Tri-Align Caliper Positioning System aligns caliper perfectly without shims. Features inboard and outboard pad adjustment knobs, rigid 2-piece forged body and tool-free pad replacement. Integrated cable stop prevents routing cable and housing from entering the brake at odd angles, reducing the possibility of cable drag. Spring tension can be modified with an Allen wrench, sold separately. Easy cable anchor bolt means no barrels or threading the needle; same as a rim brake. Clean-sweep rotor design ensures entire brake pad surface is scraped clean, providing the best performance possible.
