The women's race has run alongside the men's since the first Berencross in 2016, when Ellen Van Loy pulled clear early and won. The lap around Ter Borcht's football pitch is fast, but the stairs and the steep little banks known as the bergjes interrupt it every time round, and several editions have still come down to a sprint. Sanne Cant is the most successful rider here, with wins in 2017, 2018 and 2021. In 2022 Fem van Empel arrived having won the first two rounds of the Exact Cross and started the last lap eleven seconds clear, but a slip let Lucinda Brand and Denise Betsema back in, and Brand beat her in the three-up sprint. In October 2025 Inge van der Heijden beat Aniek van Alphen by a second in another sprint. Coming so early in the season, it is one of the first meetings of the leading women on Belgian ground.
