The women's race at Heerderstrand is only a few years old and has quickly become a Dutch affair. The course loops around a swimming lake in the Veluwe woods, mixing tarmac, sand and twisting park sections, and the sand has cost riders places here: in 2024 Laura Verdonschot put a foot down in it in the fight for second. That year Ceylin del Carmen Alvarado won without her best legs, chasing back after a slow start and a bike change before attacking on the penultimate lap. In October 2025 Fem van Empel, a week into her return from a break, led Aniek van Alphen and Leonie Bentveld home for an all-Dutch podium. It was her fiftieth cyclocross win, and she marked it by pulling a homemade '50' sign from under her jersey before the line. As the series' only Dutch round, it has so far gone to a Dutch woman every year, Manon Bakker having won the earliest edition found in 2023.
