Eschborn–Frankfurt is Germany's biggest one-day race, known to local fans simply as the Radklassiker. It began in 1962 as the Rund um den Henninger Turm and has been run on May Day for most of its history, drawing huge roadside crowds. The route climbs the Feldberg in the Taunus hills twice and the short, steep Mammolshainer Stich before a finish in central Frankfurt. Alexander Kristoff holds the modern record with four wins, and Eddy Merckx took an early edition in 1971. The climbing thins the field but a quick finisher can still win from a reduced group. In 2026 Georg Zimmermann won on home roads, a popular German victory.
