The Grand Prix Cycliste de Montréal is the harder of Canada's two WorldTour one-day races, run on the demanding Mont Royal circuit in the heart of the city. First held in 2010, it climbs the Côte Camillien-Houde and a second steep ramp on every lap, terrain that favours the best climbers and classics riders. Tadej Pogačar has already won it twice. The same Mont Royal circuit hosts the 2026 World Championships, which makes this year's race a valuable preview of the course for the rainbow jersey. The climbing accumulates over the laps until only the strongest survive. It is the toughest day of the North American season.
