Milan–San Remo Women runs the finale that has decided the men's Classicissima for over a century, the Cipressa and then the Poggio before the plunge into San Remo. The women's race was first held as the Primavera Rosa from 1999 to 2005 and was revived in 2025, restoring one of the sport's great courses to the calendar. Like the men's version it is a race of patience and nerve, where the strongest sprinters have to survive the climbs and the climbers have to find a gap on the Poggio descent. In 2026 Lotte Kopecky timed her effort perfectly to win along the coast. The route alone makes it one of the most coveted one-day races there is. Its return has been one of the best additions to the calendar in years.
