The women's Mosselcross has belonged to Lucinda Brand, who won four of its five editions as a World Cup round. The Grembergen course is a flat meadow broken by a small hill, and because the fields hold water the winter editions were fought through deep mud, with riders sometimes running more than riding. Brand won the first in December 2020 in the wind and rain of Storm Bella. In January 2025 she and Puck Pieterse rode clear together until a flat tyre slowed Pieterse, and Brand won with the world champion Fem van Empel in third. The December 2025 edition was dry and fast, and Brand's solo ahead of Pieterse was her eleventh win in a row. Ceylin del Carmen Alvarado is the only other winner, in 2023. An October date should bring firmer ground, and that last edition showed Brand can win here without the mud.
