The Druivencross in Overijse, named after the grapes the town south-east of Brussels is known for, is called the mother of all cyclocross races. Its hillside course has heavy climbs, slippery switchback descents and cobbles, and in the wet it becomes a long fight through the mud in which crashes are common. First held in 1960, it counts Roland Liboton as its record winner with fifteen victories, ahead of Erik De Vlaeminck on nine and Sven Nys on six. Its most notorious edition came in December 2005, when Bart Wellens kicked out at a spectator who had been throwing beer at him and crossed the line first, only to be disqualified days later, with the win going to Lars Boom. In 2024 Thibau Nys followed Eli Iserbyt's attack and passed him on the last lap for his first Superprestige win. As the opening round, it tests the field on one of the hardest courses of the autumn.
