Ruddervoorde, a village just south of Bruges, has hosted a cyclocross since 1988, and for many years its race opened the Superprestige season in October. The course is flat and fast, with a large sand pit, short ramps, off-camber turns and barriers, so the race often stays in a group until late and is decided in the sand. Sven Nys won it ten times, and Mathieu van der Poel and then Eli Iserbyt each put together four wins in a row. In 2024 Joran Wyseure, the former under-23 world champion, attacked with two laps to go and took his first Superprestige win. The 2025 edition was closer still: Joris Nieuwenhuis led into the sand on the last lap, and Michael Vanthourenhout ran past him with the bike on his shoulder to win his home race for the first time. In 2026 it leaves its October slot for 6 December, St Nicholas' Day.
