The Tour de Pologne is the leading WorldTour stage race of the late-summer calendar, run through Poland each August. First held in 1928, it has grown into a well-organised modern race that mixes sprint stages with hilly finishes near the Tatra Mountains in the south. It often turns up an unpredictable winner, since the climbs are punchy rather than truly high and the gaps tend to stay small. Several riders share the record with three overall wins. The race has long been a home stage for Polish stars like Rafał Majka and a regular hunting ground for Peter Sagan. It is the biggest week of racing in Central Europe.
