The women's individual time trial World Championship is the race of truth against the clock, with the rainbow jersey to the fastest rider alone on the road. The 2026 course opens the Montréal Worlds, around 39 kilometres along the Saint Lawrence River and over the city's bridges, a lumpy parcours that favours all-rounders over flat-out power. Jeannie Longo holds the all-time record with four titles, and Ellen van Dijk has won three in the modern era. The discipline has been a showcase for the best engines in the sport. There are no teammates and no tactics, only the rider and the clock. The time trial rewards the rider in the best form, plainly and without argument.
