The women's race at World Cup Hamme is new to the series, but the ground beside the Mirabrug, the bridge over the Durme made famous by the 1971 film Mira, has hosted the women of the Flandriencross since 2014. The site is a low park by the river with a pond at its centre and an elevation close to sea level, which is why it so often turns to mud. Sanne Cant won three Flandriencross titles, and Fem van Empel won in January 2023 and again in 2024, when she led from the first lap and said it helped to ride alone on such a treacherous circuit. Ceylin del Carmen Alvarado and Lucinda Brand won the last two. The new organiser plans a reworked course with better views of the riders around the bridge. The first winner will be the first woman to win a World Cup race in Hamme.
